The Scene is a one-stop shop for instant, personalized recommendations and guaranteed reservations at restaurants, bars, cafes, and clubs in NYC. It saves your time by getting you recommendations that fit your exact preferences and guaranteeing reservation at those very spots, that too within 30-60 seconds - essentially cutting out the need to spend several minutes consulting lifestyle blogs and then look through reservation platforms. It is quite literally a life hack for your social life and your personal "pocket concierge".

Our founder, Ridhima, grew up in India and Singapore. Her entire life was consumed by constant travel. That is until she moved to NYC at 17 to start college at NYU and quickly fell in love with the city and all it has to offer. As she went through her 4 years at the university, she began to build an extensive knowledge of places for going out in NYC and would often be the go-to resource for recommendations in her sorority as well as other larger social circles.

The Scene is also an exclusive social community, you’ll get to be a part of and network with. You no longer have to worry about seeing X, Y, or Z’s story from last night and feel like you missed out - hey, you were with them!

We’re looking to raise $14K for an even better user experience - we will be upgrading all tech specs of the app, as well as looking to release an iOS and Android version of the app, and improving the payment setup.

  1. Will The Scene be available in other cities besides New York?

    • We're starting off in our favorite city - NYC, but once we're more settled into the biz, #globaldomination is the plan. The Year 3 goal is Dubai, followed by Singapore, Miami, LA, and Tel Aviv.

  2. When will the app be ready/launch?

    • The first version of the web app is already available for use but fingers crossed the mobile app will be up and running with upgraded tech specs by the end of the year!

  3. Can anyone sign-up?

    • Anyone can contribute to our crowdfunding campaign and receive rewards!   4. Will there be any funding in addition to the crowdfunding campaign?

    • We were just accepted to an accelerator so hopefully we'll be receiving funding at the end of that, yeah!

  5. Is my contribution tax-deductible?

    • Nope

  6. When will I receive my rewards?

    • Depends on the reward - so if you pick a city list, for instance, you'd receive that in your email instantly. If you picked a session / meeting oriented reward, that would launch a calendar and you would select a time slot, but you wouldn't have to wait more than a week for your meeting. If you picked a membership-based reward, we'll make sure your access is granted the same business day :)
