Project Description

Who We Are

Sincerely Miss Mary creates trauma-informed wellness writing programs to help people transform their adversity into empowered leadership so they can effectively serve their communities.
We have helped over 100 trauma survivors heal from domestic violence, sexual assault, chronic illness, childhood trauma, or were formerly incarcerated.
It is now our mission to facilitate Write & Release, a wellness writing program to help teachers shape the future generation by providing tools for stress management and emotional regulation.
Our goal is to reach 100 school districts by 2025.

The Problem

After interviewing teachers across the country, I have learned the future of public education is at risk, with teachers facing extreme burnout, high turnover rates, and the lack of trauma-informed emotional support for students exhibiting challenging behaviors.

How Sincerely Miss Mary's Writing Program Can Help In 3 Steps

  1. Educate teachers on how to regulate their emotions and nervous system when faced with challenging behaviors in the classroom using trauma-informed writing practices they can easily remember.
  2. Once they learn this, I will train them to integrate my proven writing framework into the classroom seamlessly to support students' emotional needs by providing a workbook that has helped 100s of leaders serve their communities.
  3. Restore a teacher's sense of purpose and affirm they have the power to impact a student's life without burning out.

Meet The Founder

I’m Maryann Samreth, a wellness writing coach passionate about helping people heal through writing so they can find their authentic voice and reclaim their power.
My healing through writing journey began in 2018 after experiencing a PTSD episode as a result of sexual trauma and an abusive relationship. I began live journaling my truths from a place of advocacy, fearlessness, and compassion under the pen name, Sincerely Miss Mary. Eventually, I embodied this version of myself, aka my authentic true self, leading me to publish over 100 poems and essays online, launch Mental Breakthrough Podcast, become a TikTok influencer, and leave my 11-year fashion design career to become a wellness writing coach.

I now have over 200 hours of certified somatic trauma therapy training, 11 years of professional creative experience as a former fashion designer, and over 5 years of writing my trauma stories and healing PTSD through the creative process.
I have combined creativity, personal development, and trauma-informed education to develop my proven writing framework that is backed by trauma therapists and creative experts.

How Embodied Writing Can Help Us Release And Regulate Emotions

Expressive writing activates all parts of our brain and can increase neuroplasticity to help reduce stress and anxiety. ( Scientific American)
My embodied storytelling framework allows you to safely access different parts of your selves carrying emotional truths and slowly release it.
You can read more about my writing process here.

How You Can Help

I am raising funds to help me hire support so we can facilitate this wellness writing program for teachers in 100 school districts across the country by 2025.
When teachers are able to ground themselves through these writing tools and integrate this into the classroom, they are then able to effectively lead their students from a place of impact, influence, and inspiration.
Students who are able to learn how to regulate their emotions and nervous system will be able to carry these modalities into adulthood and become the next effective leaders this world needs today.
Thank you for supporting my mission to help teachers get the support they need so they can continue to inspire the next generation of leaders
With love,
Maryann Samreth

Can writing really help us heal?

Yes! Here's what my clients are saying.

"The Dare to Rise program was a huge leap forward in my writing process. Maryann has a unique approach and a long list of resources to help you find your voice and share your story in your own time. I have always been drawn to writing but I never knew how powerful it could be to make meaning out of the most difficult moments in my life. Through this program, I learned how to see my own experiences in a new light and weave together the story of my life. Without Maryann's guidance and support, I wouldn't have been able to speak my truth for others to hear, first in a published essay and eventually through my memoir."

  • Nicole Smith, Thyroid Cancer Survivor and Advocate
"I was looking for a push to write, but also to uncover the things that were blocking me from moving forward. Maryann definitely brings in her personal experience on her own path to trauma writing and writing in general, while also bringing in other experts in the mental health arena to help uncover and heal my authentic self. Also being a first-generation Khmer American, it was wonderful to have a space and a leader who could completely relate to my experience that I am writing about. Now, I have more confidence to tell my damn story and that's in large part because of her guidance, the content from the program, and also the group that I was in."
  • Nancy Yeang, Writer/Yoga Instructor
"As I previously mentioned, I am taking a trauma writing course. So far, it has been life-changing. The first week, we were given a task to write a prayer for guidance. We were asked to: write a letter of prayer to someone, something, or a place you can lean on and will protect you. I have decided to share my prayer here."
